What exactly are Miracles and Apparitions? Do they differ significantly from what’s known as the UFO phenomena that was discussed in Part 2? Could their true nature be the same, but simply presented within a religious frame of reference?
I have had cause to re-write this series of articles, or at least transfer them to a new platform, a few times now. It's this part that always really makes my blood boil more than any of the other parts and yet it's the one that gets the least views... Curious.

1846 was an eventful year, especially in France where it rained blood, frogs (appropriately) and slag. Strange glowing objects circled the skies and poltergeist were running amok in houses across the land. Just outside the little town of La Salette a "miracle" was taking place. Two young girls saw a great globe of light hovering above the fields. They claimed that it opened up and a smaller, brighter light came out which appeared to be a glowing entity that proceeded to speak to them in French. The frame of reference that the girls assumed was a religious one, specifically Catholicism and so they assumed it was ‘Our Lady’. They received a series of accurate prophecies, including the Irish potato famine of 1846-47 and the failure of Europe's wheat crops in 1851. The period between 1845 and 1854 saw many droughts and diseases affect crops throughout Europe, causing great suffering and starvation. Our Lady also stated, "Little children will be seized with trembling and will die in the arms of those who are holding them ... " This was validated when an ague epidemic took 75,000 people, most of whom were youngsters. The symptoms of the ague were fever and shivering.

‘The Lady’ also issued an ultimatum,
"If my people will not submit, I shall be forced to let the army of my Son fall on them. But, if sinners repent, the stones and rocks will tum into heaps of wheat and potatoes that will be sown by themselves."
The themes of retribution, penance and vengeance are commonplace within such ‘divine’ messages, as we shall see.
The following year, 1848, ‘Spirits’ began communicating with the Fox sisters in a little house in Hydesville, New York. This coincided with a worldwide UFO flap between 1848 and 1851 with reports of poltergeist activity reaching a peak in 1849. It was the haunting and poltergeist activity that were given the headlines and thus created the Spiritualism frame of reference, such that by 1852 there were thousands of ‘Spiritualists’ in the United States alone. In 1856 it spread to France where Allen Kardec founded the ‘Revue Spirite’ in Paris.

A garbage dump outside the French town of Lourdes was chosen as the venue for another vision of the Virgin. It all began on the,first of February, 1858, when Bernadette Soubirous, a fourteen-year-old girl, fell to her knees and saw the vision of a beautiful woman.
It wasn’t until the third apparition, on 18th February, that the Virgin spoke, “what I have to say to you does not have to be written down”. Bernadette was then asked, “Would you be so kind as to come here for fifteen days?” Then she continued: “I do not promise to make you happy in this world but in the other.” The other... not heaven or 'the next?'
“During the first seven apparitions, Bernadette’s face always radiated joy, happiness and light. However between the eight and twelfth apparitions, everything changed: Bernadette’s face became harsh, sad, and sorrowful, and above all she performed incomprehensible gestures… She moved on her knees to the back of the Grotto. She kissed the dirty repulsive ground of the Grotto. She ate some bitter plants. She scraped the ground three times trying to drink the muddy water at the back of the Grotto. She tried to drink a little and then throwing it away, she took mud in her hands and smeared it on her face. Then the young girl turned to the crowd. They all said: “She’s mad!” During these four Apparitions, Bernadette performed the same gestures.” Source
In the ninth apparition, “the Lady” told Bernadette to, “Go to the spring, drink of it and wash yourself there”. At the time the ‘spring’ consisted of nothing but muddy water. “A soldier pierced his heart with his lance and there immediately flowed out blood and water,” she went on. When the crowd asked Bernadette, “Did the ‘Lady’ say anything to you?” She replied, “Yes, from time to time, she said, “Penance, penance, penance. Pray for sinners”.

During the thirteenth Apparition, the entity said to Bernadette: “Go, tell the priests and that people should come here in procession and to build a chapel here.” Finally, on the 25th March, 1858, Bernadette had been told by the local padre, Father Peyramale, to ask the entity for a name. She asked the question three times, but the entity only smiled at her. Upon asking the question a fourth time the reply finally came, “Que soy era Immaculada Counceptiou,” although Bernadette pronounced the last word as “con-chep-cion, so where the ‘official’ weird spelling came from is a mystery. The official narrative claims that this is a local dialect known as "bigourdan." It certainly isn’t French, apart from the “Que.” Anyway, Bernadette didn’t understand the expression and therefore kept on repeating it to herself on the way to see the priest. so as not to forget it. The Dogma of the Immaculate Conception had only been around for 4 years at that time and it’s not something of which Bernadette would have been aware.
All official sources report this name as “I am the Immaculate Conception,” however, there is a problem. Lourdes is very close to Spain and the words “Que soy era” are clearly Spanish. The trouble is, the words “soy “ and “era” are both conjugations of the same verb “ser” - “to be.” Therefore, the literal translation reads “That I am I was Immaculate Conception.” Not even a “the” (“la”) in there. It sounds like a garbled made-up-in-a-hurry answer, plucked out of the ether… which may not be that far from the truth.
According to demonology, demons are reluctant to tell you their name, because once you know it you can command them.
These were the magic words as far as the religious officials involved were concerned (or at least they turned them into magic words) and Lourdes was thenceforth ‘on the map’. All of the degrading and humiliating actions that the unfortunate Bernadette was forced to perform are now interpreted as being religiously ‘symbolic’.
In October, 1859, ‘Our Lady of Good Help’ manifested and gave a not very helpful ultimatum,
“I am the Queen of Heaven who prays for the conversion of sinners, and I wish you to do the same. You received Holy Communion this morning and that is good. But you must do more. Make a general confession and offer Communion for the conversion of sinners. If they do not convert and do penance, my Son will be obliged to punish them.” Source

There is much evidence to illustrate that the phenomena maintains some kind of ‘network’ amongst contactees whereby notices of impending events are announced. Given that this phenomena does not have its primary source in aliens from a planet far, far away, then it’s reasonable to assume that this network includes those involved in what may be termed the occult. As a prequel to the events that unfolded at Fatima, Portugal in 1917, several newspapers published reports that an occult group had received a message via automatic writing claiming that something wondrous would happen in Portugal on May the 13th. The message could only be read by holding it up to a mirror. The message claimed to be from an entity calling itself “The Bright Morning Star”… which is a bit worrying as this is the Biblical description of Lucifer. A similar claim that “something transcendental” would happen on May 13th was published in newspapers such as the O Primeiro de Jeneiro, The Jornal de Noticias and Liberdade. This message came from a clairvoyant named Mr. Antonio from Porto. (ibid)
However, even before these predictions were being published the press-agent had already been identified and was being groomed by the phenomena. It began in 1915 when Lucia, along with two other girls, saw the apparition of an unusual object in the sky, which they took to be a figure. This happened again on two more occasions. It was followed up a few weeks later when she was with her cousins, Jacinta and Francisco and they all saw the apparition of a luminous, transparent boy of about fifteen years old who identified himself as the Angel of Peace. Once again the same religious frame of reference was in play and the ‘angel’s’ advice set the tone for what was to come.
The Angel taught them to pray,
“My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee! I ask pardon of Thee for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love Thee!”

In his next visit he startled the children as they were playing in the shade of a well near Lucia’s house when he scalded them saying, “What are you doing? Pray, pray very much! The Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy on you. Offer prayers and sacrifices constantly to the Most High.”
Lucy asked: “How are we to make sacrifices?”
“Make of everything you can a sacrifice, and offer it to God as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is so offended, and in supplication for the conversion of sinners. You will thus draw down peace upon your country. I am its Angel Guardian, the Angel of Portugal. Above all, accept and bear with submission the suffering which the Lord will send you.”
Strange words for an Angel of Peace who commands them to, “above all,” consent to and do not question the suffering that ‘God’ has in store for them. Nevertheless, this trademark contactee ‘grooming’ had the desired effect and the children were primed for the main event of 1917.
The third apparition took place in the autumn. The children decided to pray, just as the Angel had instructed them. After many repetitions the Angel materialised.
‘He was holding a chalice in his left hand, with the Host suspended above it, from which some drops of Blood fell into the chalice. Leaving the chalice suspended in the air, the Angel knelt down beside us and made us repeat three times,
“Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the sacrileges, outrages and indifferences by which He Himself is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.” Then, rising, he took the chalice and the Host in his hands. He gave the Sacred Host to me, and shared the Blood from the chalice between Jacinta and Francisco, saying as he did so,
“Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men! Make reparation for their crimes and console your God.” Once again, he prostrated on the ground and repeated with us, three times more, the same prayer: “Most Holy Trinity . . .” and then disappeared.’ Source
The horrors of WWI were reaching their peak during 1917. The agenda that would play out in Fatima was a complicated one that required prophecies that would be validated fairly quickly in order to act as bait for the bigger, far reaching ones. Also, the whole situation had to fit into the context of the UFO/contactee incidents that were still to come.

The build-up to the main event began in May 1917, when a globe of light appeared and a faceless entity spoke to the children. Francisco was the only one unable to hear the entity, but he could see it. This may have something to do with the claim that the apparition gave the children “something” to eat and drink, although Francisco only ate and did not drink. Source
They were told that they were required to be there and meet with it at the same day, time and place for the next 6 months. The children asked if they would be going to heaven and were told that they would, although poor little Francisco needed to say “many rosaries first”. They asked about friends who had passed away and discovered that one “will be in purgatory until the end of the world.” Then the entity said,
“Are you willing to offer yourselves to God and bear all the sufferings He wills to send you, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and of supplication for the conversion of sinners?”
“Yes, we are willing.” was the reply.
“Then you are going to have much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your comfort.” Finally the entity told them to, “Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world, and the end of the war.”
...what a dreadful responsibility to put on young children.
One month later Lucia asked the entity to take them to heaven, It replied,
“Yes. I will take Jacinta and Francisco soon. But you are to stay here some time longer. Jesus wishes to make use of you to make me known and loved. He wants to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.”
Such was the innocence of Jacinta and Francisco that they were delighted at the news of their imminent death. Once again the entity sought the consent of the children for all of the suffering that was about to be heaped upon them by God and they consented. At that moment there came into Lucia’s mind a sadness for the scorn and contempt that her family now held her in due to the apparitions. Sensing this the entity said,
“Don’t cry. Surely, these are the sacrifices which the Angel [of ‘Peace’] said that God was going to send us. That’s why you are suffering, so that you can make reparation to Him and convert sinners.”
Let’s bear in mind here that this is was all happening to young children just over 100 years ago in Portugal, not 2 or 3 thousand or more years ago in the Sinai dessert.
The Three Innocents Source
The following monthly appointment in July came around and quite a crowd had gathered near the holmoak tree where the entity usually appeared. This time it promised it would reveal its identity in October and perform a miracle. Then it said,
“Sacrifice yourselves for sinners, and say many times, especially whenever you make some sacrifice: O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”
As it spoke these words it opened its hands and rays of light poured out. Then, in Lucia’s own words,
“The rays of light seemed to penetrate the earth, and we saw as it were a sea of fire. Plunged in this fire were demons and souls in human form, like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, floating about in the conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames that issued from within themselves together with great clouds of smoke now falling back on every side like sparks in huge fires, without weight or equilibrium, amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fear. (It must have been this sight which caused me to cry out, as people say they heard me). The demons could be distinguished by their terrifying and repellent likeness to frightful and unknown animals, black and transparent like burning coals. Terrified and as if to plead for succour, we looked up at Our Lady, who said to us, so kindly and so sadly,
The Children's Vision of Hell Source
‘You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end; but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father.
‘To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world. In Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved; etc… Do not tell this to anybody. Francisco, yes, you may tell him.
‘When you pray the Rosary, say after each mystery: O my Jesus, forgive us, save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who are most in need.” Source
Adults who were there praying heard sounds and saw aerial lights, but were not treated to the Hollywood special effects, they were reserved for the children. These small children knew nothing of Russia or that the Revolution had begun earlier that year on March 8, but of course, familiarity and apparent concern with dramatic current events is a familiar feature of the phenomena, as has been shown. There was another factor at play here though. At the time, the children were allegedly given this July prophesy as a secret and all that Lucia would say was that it was "good for some, for others bad." It has been suggested that Lucia didn’t actually write the prophecy down until August 1941, after World War II had already begun. [Source: Nickell, Joe. Looking for a Miracle (1998), pg. 179] The language used seems inappropriate for a child of her age and background, also, with the subsequent involvement of the Jesuits, as we shall see later, manipulation is quite plausible.
Before they could get to the August rendezvous, the children were seized and imprisoned by the Administrator of Ourem. He threatened them with their lives and tried to make them confess that it was all a hoax, but the children were steadfast in their story.
“The parish priest, Father Manuel Marques Ferreira worked with and interrogated the children on the apparitions because he believed that it was demonic. These original testimonies and documents are stored away in the Fatima archives and Father Ferreira’s assumption was obviously overruled.” Source

The children were still in prison on the 13th of the month, but a crowd of 6,000 had gathered at the ‘Cova’ spot in anticipation of the usual event. Witnesses reported that a flash of light appeared in the sky and then something resembling a small, transparent cloud slowly floated down to rest briefly on top of the evergreen holmelm tree were the entity usually manifested. All the faces in the crowd were bathed in a multicoloured light.
After they were released, the children returned to the meadow on August 19. The entity told them to,
“Pray, pray very much, and make sacrifices for sinners; for many souls go to hell, because there are none to sacrifice themselves and to pray for them.”
Which, if you think about it is a bizarre concept. Sinners can go about sinning to their heart’s content, but it’s the responsibility of others - especially little children - to prevent them from going to hell by making sacrifices and praying…?!* What happened to forgiveness and the Catholic doctrine of confession?
In spite of the roads around Fatima being full of people, all pressing the children for favours and healing intercessions, September’s audience was quite brief.
“Continue to pray the Rosary in order to obtain the end of the war. In October Our Lord will come, as well as Our Lady of Dolours and Our Lady of Carmel. Saint Joseph will appear with the Child Jesus to bless the world. God is pleased with your sacrifices. He does not want you to sleep with the rope on, but only to wear it during the daytime.”
“I was told to ask you many things, the cure of some sick people, of a deaf-mute…
“Yes, I will cure some, but not others. In October I will perform a miracle so that all may believe.”
All that was missing from the end of this dialogue was “Now b*gger off.” The “rope” referred to was an instrument of self-torture, which the children were known to be inflicting upon themselves throughout.
Before the promised miracle took place, the phenomena decided to do a bit of propaganda for the event. Carolina Carrera, 12 years old, was tending sheep by the same holmoak tree favoured by the entity when suddenly a blonde haired figure materialised. She couldn’t tell if it was a boy or girl. Telepathically the entity told the girl to approach. She turned briefly to check her sheep, but when she turned back the figure was hovering above the tree in mid-air. Source
On another day close to the main event on October 13th, according to another account, an entity identifying itself as “The Bright Morning Star” (Lucifer again) appeared to a boy and told him not to be afraid. (ibid)

The entity, aided by the media as usual, had generated a great deal of expectation for the last scheduled apparition. On October the 13th, as promised, the children alone saw Jesus, Our Lady of Sorrows, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and Saint Joseph blessing the people. It was then that the ‘heavens opened’ and it began to rain.
I will quote the account as related by John Keel in the 1960’s, because since then the official narrative has changed almost beyond recognition.
‘An estimated 70,000 people collected at the Cova da Iria on October 13, 1917, in anticipation of the promised miracle. Many of them carried cameras, and primitive hand-cranked movie cameras had been set up by newsreel men. The weather was sour, with dark, sullen skies and a heavy rain. The meadows and fields were a sea of mud, and the faithful huddled under umbrellas. The three children gathered with their parents in front of the little tree and waited. Shortly after noon, Lucia gasped, and her upraised face flushed as she entered a rapture. The Lady had arrived, even though the crowd saw nothing . The children declared that she held an infant in her arms, and for the first time she identified herself, saying that she was "the Lady of the Rosary. " The war was going to end soon, she told them, and all of the soldiers would be returning home. [F: All those who managed to survive for another year, that is.]
‘Suddenly the crowd screamed, and all the people fell to their knees. Something was coming through the clouds: a huge silver disk which rotated rapidly as it descended toward the mob. Fragile strands of silvery "angel hair" showered from the sky, melting away before any of it could be collected.
‘The object bobbed up and down, waltzing under the cloud layer, and as it whirled faster, it seemed to change color, going through the whole spectrum. It swooped down and passed low over the terrified people; then it bobbed upward again. These gyrations were continued for a full ten minutes.
‘Miles from Fatima, others were watching the same object. A well known poet named Alfonso Lopes Vieira claimed that he saw it from his home at San Pedro de Moel, forty kilometres from Fatima. Eighteen kilometres away in Alburita, Dona Delfina Pereira Lopes, a teacher, and all of her students reportedly witnessed the spectacle. Father Inacio Lourenco described it as looking "like a globe of snow revolving on itself.”
‘Professor Almeida Garrett, a distinguished scientist from Coimbra University, was in the crowd at Fatima and reported: "It was raining hard . . . suddenly the sun shone through the dense cloud which covered it; everybody looked in its direction . . . . It looked like a disk, of very definite contour; it was not dazzling . I don't think it could be compared to a dull silver disk, as someone said later at Fatima. No. It rather possessed a clear, changing brightness, which one could compare to a pearl . . . It looked like a polished wheeL . . . This is not poetry ; my eyes have seen it. . . . This clear-shaped disk suddenly began turning . It rotated with increasing speed . . . . Suddenly, the crowd began crying with anguish. The 'sun , ' revolving all the time, began falling toward the earth , [now] reddish and bloody, threatening to crush everybody under its fiery weight... "
‘A wave of heat swept over the crowd, drying their rain-soaked clothes instantly. We might speculate that this same wave of heat may have affected the miraculous healings that reportedly took place among some of the sick people in the crowd…’Source: Operation Trojan Horse, John Keel
‘“Then the sun went into the trees where the little children were and within minutes the children got up and turned around toward the people. Lucia said that everything is going to be all right. Pray and pray hard. Pray the rosary every day for sinners around the world, that God was too much offended. “Some very odd things were reported during the incident. People heard a buzzing noise inside their heads, as did the children in their previous encounters. Car windshields cracked, some car hoods were torn off and thrown into the air, gasoline spontaneously combusted and cars wouldn’t start after the event. Those who were directly under the silver disk that passed over, their clothes had dried and some reported burns on their skin.” Source: Operation Trojan Horse, John Keel
This event became one of the most thoroughly investigated UFO-type events, if not of all time then certainly of its period. There were 70,000 witnesses, including priests, scientists and journalists. It inspired hundreds of books, but none of them had photographs of the actual object. There were and still are, many pictures of the crowds, some of whom can be seen pointing cameras at the sky, so where are all the images? Where is the newsreel movie footage? John Keel made strenuous efforts to track down such evidence, but to no avail. Did the Men in Black do a thorough clean-up soon after the event? The USAF and the CIA can’t be blamed for it in this instance.
On the 1st of April, 2012, José Machado published a book called ‘The Miracle of the Sun’, which claimed to include an original photograph of the event showing a disk in the sky. (Bear in mind that this is traditionally ‘April Fool’s Day’). It was one of 4 taken by Joshua Benoliel who was a witness in 1917. Machado was given consent to view the original glass plates from the Fatima archives. He was only allowed to publish one. Machado is a professional of semiotics and is satisfied that the disk is not a smudge, burn, or scratch, but embedded in the glass.

There are a couple of DVDs around by a character named L.A. Marzulli claiming to show never seen before photos, but I haven’t watched them. Somewhat depressingly, even the Catholic Church is using obviously faked photos of the event:

Over the years since the manifestation occurred there has been much controversy and manipulation concerning the events of that day. In the initial reports just about all of the witnesses agreed that the object was pearlescent white and metallic, changing colour with the speed of rotation. The term “Miracle of the Sun” was first coined by a Lisbon newspaper reporter, even though observatories around the world assured the press that the sun remained in its usual place throughout the entire event. The silvery angel hair has since become "rose petals." Wikipedia has a Miracle of the Sun page which is very careful to avoid any references that might suggest… well, anything really.
Six years after the event, when Lúcia was 16 years old, she was put into a convent by the Jesuits where she became a nun, took a vow of silence and was renamed Maria of the Sorrows – highly appropriately. As predicted, Francisco and Jacinta both passed away during the 1918 flu epidemic as it was called then, but pandemic as we now know it.
‘All three children, but particularly Francisco and Jacinta, practised stringent self-mortifications... The Congregation for the Causes of Saints, in the report that confirmed Jacinta as beatified, observed that she seemed to have "an insatiable hunger for immolation."’ Source
In 1928, Lúcia was instructed to write down the secrets revealed to her by the entity. That was 11 years after the event. What transpired was very different to the original 1917 accounts. Nothing was said about Russia in the 1917 reports. “Consecrate Russia to my sacred heart…” was not part of the original transcripts. Once the Jesuits took control the manipulation began.
The infamous third secret or prophecy was allegedly not written down until Lucia was believed to be on her deathbed in 1943. It was supposed to be revealed to the world in 1960, but Pope John XXIII "decided it was advisable to preserve the mystery," according to Alfredo, Cardinal Ottavianni, head of the Vatican's sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. This, of course, caused mass hysteria for a while as the media had a field-day speculating all manner of nonsense.
The Vatican supposedly released the third secret in the year 2000 in Rome and if you wish it can be read here. However, it doesn’t ring true. For once the Wikipedia article is quite useful on that point. ‘According to one source, when Lúcia was asked about the Third Secret, she said it was "in the Gospels and in the Apocalypse" and at one point she had even specified Apocalypse chapters 8 to 13, a range that includes the Book of Revelation 12:4. The same chapter and verse was cited by Pope John Paul II in his homily in Fátima on 13 May 2000. This bears little or no relation to the official version revealed in Rome. Others have suggested that there is a one-page text of the Third Secret which predicts a great apostasy where Rome will "lose the faith and become the throne of the Antichrist." The Vatican response to this was as follows:
“That's absolutely crazy. Look, are you claiming that the prophecy of Fatima is about the apostasy of the Church of Rome? That Fatima is a prediction of Rome's transformation into the throne of the Antichrist?” Source
Throughout the entire series of the Fatima apparitions, the children never saw the entity’s mouth moving when it spoke. The words entered directly into their heads from a buzzing sound that rang around them whenever it appeared. When asked where it came from, it never said heaven, instead it just lifted it’s arms towards the sky and it never called itself ‘Mary, mother of God.’ Neither did the children call the entity Mary. The idea was suggested by Lúcia’s uncle on the basis of “who else could it be?” When Lúcia was asked where this entity came from, she said ‘The sky’. The original descriptions of the entity stated that it was less than 3 or 4 feet tall, bald and was wearing a knee length dress. Source

There was another ‘third message’ that was communicated on October 13, 1973, by ‘Our Lady of Akita’ in Japan, who obviously went to the same evening classes for ‘How to win friends and influence people’ as ‘Our Lady of Fatima’...
“As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity...the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead... Each day recite the prayer of the Rosary. With the Rosary pray for the Pope, bishops and the priests. The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, and bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them.” Source
Two girls from the the Village of Heede in the Diocese of Osnabruck, Germany, saw a beautiful ‘Lady’ on November 1, 1937. This was the first of 100 apparitions involving a total of four girls (pictured above.) Under the various titles of Queen, Queen of the Holy Souls and Queen of the Universe, the visionaries were entrusted with the standard prophecies, solemn messages, and secrets, including the obligatory one for the Pope, who must have been fed up of all these secret messages by now – especially as he had a hotline to the man himself anyway.

The outbreak of WWII interrupted the manifestations, but they resumed with a vengeance after. ‘Jesus’ began to appear to Grete Ganseforth in 1945. (There is no record if the entity specifically named itself as ‘Jesus’ or if it was simply another assumption.) He told her he had singled her out to become ‘his spouse’ in a very special way, by becoming a victim soul for the conversion of obstinate sinners. When Grete gave her consent, the entity gave her the Stigmata, which proves the old adage – ‘fair exchange is no robbery’.
Like any absentee spouse, the entity kept a keen eye on Grete, or rather had keen eyes watching her. A school dance was being proposed which apparently was going to “exceed Catholic norms for modesty and decency” (the mind boggles). ‘Jesus’ told his spouse and special victim,
“If they proceed with that dance, all involved will have to answer to Me at their Judgement.”
Grete obediently launched a campaign to have the dance cancelled, or at least modified so that it would not be a dangerous occasion of sin for the youth. She also appealed to the parents of the students to not allow their children to attend the dance, at the express warning of Christ Himself. The dance was cancelled. (In case you’re wondering, this is all true.)

The gentle, loving ‘Jesus’ also threatened a "Minor Judgement" that he had in store for the future. This event is the same as 'The Warning' that would be given at Garabandal in 1961. ‘Jesus’ told the children,
“Humanity has not heeded my Blessed Mother who appeared at Fatima, to exhort everyone to penitence. Now I have come, in this last hour to admonish the world. The times are grave. Men should do penance for their sins…I am near. The earth will tremble and will suffer. It will be terrific. A minor judgement. For those who are not in a state of grace it will be frightful. The angels of my justice are now scattered across the world. Men do not listen to my calls. They close their ears, resist my graces and refuse my mercy, my love and my merits. They will agonize in the blindness of their faults. Hatred and greed fills the hearts of men. All this is the work of Satan. The world sleeps in a dense darkness…. This generation deserves to be annihilated but I desire to show myself as merciful. Great and terrible things are being prepared. That which is about to happen will be terrible, like nothing ever since the beginning of the world….”
This was post WWII, let’s not forget. As if two World Wars weren’t enough,
“All those who have suffered in those last times are my martyrs and they prepare the newly converted of my church. That which will shortly happen, will greatly surpass everything that has ever happened until now. The Mother of God and the angels will intervene. Hell will believe that victory is theirs, but I will seize it from them. Many blaspheme Me and, because of this, I shall allow all kinds of misfortunes to rain upon the earth for, through this, many will be saved. Blessed are those who suffer everything in reparation for those who offend me. My beloved children the hour is near. Pray incessantly and you will not be confounded. I unite My elect. They will come together, at the same time, from all parts of the world and they will glorify Me. I come. Blessed are those who will be prepared. Blessed are those who hear me…”
Once again, ‘Jesus’ doesn’t care who it was that offended him, just as long as someone suffers for it.

‘On Sunday, June 18, 1961, four young girls were playing marbles outside of the little village of Garabandal, Spain, when they suddenly saw an "angel."’ (Source; Operation Trojan Horse, John Keel)
These days there is a great deal of controversy surrounding, not just this, but many of the Marian Apparitions. The youngest of the four girls, who was eleven at the time, stated in 1984 that she never saw the angel or the virgin and that one girl, Conchita, was the ‘conduit’. She also claimed that the ‘fanatic’ local Church officials put huge amounts of pressure on the girls to invoke apparitions and receive messages. Now however, the situation has reversed completely and the Vatican are trying to wipe out the history of the apparitions and control the messages coming from ‘contactees’ in many sites worldwide. Of all the Garabandal apparitions, one of the first is of very special interest, which occurred on Sunday July 2, 1961. The entity was accompanied by two ‘angels’ who were dressed alike "as if they were twins." The Lady had long, thin hands, a long angular face "with a fine nose," and lips that were "a bit thin." She seemed to be "rather tall. " Her hair was a deep nut brown, parted in the centre. This is a classic description of the "long finger" UFO entities described by many contactees. On the Lady's right the girls said they could see "a square of red fire framing a triangle with an eye and some writing in an old Oriental-type script.”
It’s highly unlikely that the four children of Garabandal had any notion of the ‘All-Seeing Eye’ and especially it’s relevance to the ‘silent contactee’ situation. In fact, even very few ‘ufologists’ are aware of it. The "men in black" have been seen wearing lapel pins bearing the symbol and have identified themselves directly as being from "the Nation of the Third Eye."
The messages of Garabandal were in exactly the same vein as those of Fatima and Heede. For example:
October 18, 1961, "We must make many sacrifices, do much penance. We must visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently; but first, we must be good, and unless we do this, a punishment will befall us. The cup is already filling and unless we change, a very great punishment will befall us."
Friday, June 18, 1965, "As my message of the eighteenth of October has not been complied with, and as it has not been made known to the world, I am telling you that this is the last one. Previously, the cup was filling; now it is brimming over ...You are now being given the last warnings."
In fact there was a warning just like the Minor Judgement of Heede. The Warning would be given before the Great Miracle so that the world can mend its ways. After the Miracle ‘The Sign’ would remain in Garabandal until the end of time. During the ‘Nights of Screams’ (nightmares induced by the entity) the girls saw how the great Chastisement for all mankind would come, and that it would come directly from God. Source
All of the ‘miracles’ discussed above have centred around trees or bushes which were sacred to the Old World Belief system and traditionally the location of elemental nature spirits, such as fairies. The sacred groves were the first sites to be destroyed during the onslaught of Judeo-Christianity. All of the miracles have involved children in isolated areas. The entities connected with these miracles are reluctant to identify themselves and often the association with The Virgin Mary or Jesus, is assumed rather than stated. It’s usually several contacts down the line before they give vague titles for themselves – ‘Queen of’ or ‘Lady of’. At Lourdes, Bernadette had to ask the entity for a name four times before receiving a garbled and dubious answer. They never give actual names.

The only real differences between this and the Alien visitors in Flying Saucers is that the ‘UFO’ messages are more specific; i.e., stop meddling with nuclear weapons/damaging the environment or "we" will paralyse your whole world.
Just to bring to a close the John Keel contribution to the topic under consideration, it’s interesting to note the effects his investigations had upon him personally. Within a year of beginning his full-time UFO investigations in 1966, he was being affected by the phenomenon, just as it had done with many others. He received bizarre telephone messages "from the space people" day and night. He would arrange to meet black Cadillacs on Long Island and when he tried to follow them, they just disappeared on dead-end roads.
Throughout the following year he was called out in the middle of the night on wild-goose chases to "rescue" troubled contactees. Luminous aerial objects followed him around like faithful dogs. They seemed to know where he was going and where he had been. He would check into random motels to find that someone had made a reservation on his behalf and left a string of nonsensical messages for him. He was overwhelmed with impossible synchronicities. Some of his closest friends in New York, with no interest or knowledge of the phenomenon, reported strange experiences, such as poltergeists and the smell of hydrogen sulphide in their apartments. On several occasions he was awoken in the middle of the night unable to move, with a huge dark figure standing over him.
John Keel came into contact with many people whose experiences had never been published or ‘silent contactees’ as he called them. Through these people he actually entered into communication with the entities themselves. When these people experienced a contact event then he or she would telephone immediately and he conversed with the entity sometimes for hours. “It all sounds ridiculous now, but it happened. My notes, tapes, and other materials testify to the fact.”
He was given predictions that were unerringly accurate and so precise that there was no chance of coincidence or guesswork. He recognised another pattern whereby the network of silent contactees were so convinced by the predictions that they truly believed the ‘ultraterrestrials possessed a complete foreknowledge of all human events. However, it would then be at this point that the believers would be deceived. During the summer of 1967, John Keel had been totally manipulated into believing that Pope Paul was going to be assassinated and that a worldwide blackout was going to punish the world for three terrible days. He stocked up on distilled water and fled to Long Island to ride out the storm. Fortunately, he hadn’t broadcast or published the prediction and hadn’t formed a wacky cult on the basis of the accuracy of the previous predictions. Others haven't been so lucky.
